The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) experienced a surge in demand during the festive season, with a 60% increase in call-outs compared to the previous year. Between December 23rd and January 1st, 2025, the crew responded to 55 emergencies, a significant rise from the 35 missions undertaken during the same period in 2024.
Chief Executive Karen Jobling praised the crew's dedication, stating, 'Our team worked tirelessly, ensuring timely responses to emergencies while many were enjoying the holidays.'
The breakdown of call-outs revealed 29 medical emergencies and nine road traffic collisions. The busiest day was December 29th, with 13 call-outs, highlighting the service's critical role in the region.
Jobling emphasized the importance of community support, saying, 'This surge in missions underscores the vital nature of our service, and we couldn't operate without the generous contributions of our community.'
In the past 12 months, LNAA has flown 1,608 missions, treating over a thousand patients. Looking ahead, the charity aims to enhance its services with new critical care cars and a second helicopter landing in 2027, all funded by donations.
